Nothing groundbreaking: ASUS x54C, Intel Core i3, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Win7 Pro OEM.

About to clean install this puppy, and then into dual-boot with some Unices.

Just picked up my new laptop. Going to burn the recovery media, and then give her the OEM Clean Install routine.........
    Sounds sweet.

Rip the guts out, put it back together and let us know how it's running

Yes let us know if it ever runs again.
I wonder if the warranty will cover that?

Finally I tracked down the damn wireless drivers. Here she is with a clean OEM install:

Just got to partition her up a bit, put on LinuxMint13, and then I'm going to create my own custom Recovery Partition and play with that a bit

FredeG... Welcome back.. it's always so nice to have friends return to W7F.. after time away .:)
Sorry about the family members health issue. I'm hoping for the best on it.
    Thank you very much Ladypink!
You guys has probably noticed that I've been gone for like a day on the forum. You probably wonder why, and I understand. I was stupid and hasty on my decision. The basic reason was the fact that a lot of my friends were away from the forums. I was a little sad, and decided to leave it - a very stupid move. I also left because I was even more sad, by the reason a family member was ill. The whole thing was a misunderstanding, and I want to owe you all an apology. You deserve one. I'm one big confuser.

Especially sorry & thanks to John & Patrick. And of course the staff for having me back, it means a lot. I realized that I couldn't live without Sevenforums in my everyday life.

I believe that misunderstanding isn't worth being remembered, therefore I hope we can move on as usual. It was a stupid move of mine, but I'm back on track - with a fresh mind this time!
