Lost about 6-8 hours of work.

Is it possible to mirror the data or have some other kind of real time backup?

Not with the stuff we have, but as usual with this sort of thing I'll look back and see what else could be done to avoid any future dataloss.

Ok so the plan is in the early hours of Saturday morning I will setup MySQL replication to our backup server, that way we should always have a fully complete database backup if needed.

The site will be offline for about 1 hour while I sync the servers.

Ouch! bad luck mate. How large is the database? Could you run a RAID10 as a realtime backup?

The db is around 2GB, we wasn't on RAID10 last night but we are now.
