    Posting items from newsletters

I sub to a few sites that announce news such as dates of the release of new hardware , security issues, and items of general computing interest.

Now I am guilty of posting material - unwittingly I might add that have skewed the rules and for which I have been advised of and for which I have apologised.

Those items included refs to updates for certain apps we use and unfortunately have been missed by myself - being paid for products.

Therefore I just want to know if a ref to say an upcoming technology that may or may not be attached to a certain company may be reported via a post in SF.

I have read through the general rules but the more I read the the more I read into them - am now unsure and confused as I do not want to get banned for posting something that I might see as harmless and possibly of benefit to all members but admin might not agree with.
