OK so far I have replaced:
bryce with Daz Studio the same company offers this free

networxs replaces serveral apps that were not installed and already deleted

    GFI backup replaced norton ghost

I have to go back and look at my old posts to see what i had installed and also figure out what free apps are replacing what I had but not installed.

yes i have to learn the re-arm thing!

I got my photopshop serial today so that is legit now. they also gave me some plugins which i will list later or with a screen shot, I would do one now but my connection is mega slow but I should be near a better connection soon. Your request for what I replaced gives me a lot of work to do since I deleted or destroyed my pirated software so I wouldn't be tempted to use it. I have a lot of demo software installed right now also so give me a few days to get that list made up and work out what I want to keep out of the demo software and what needs to be uninstalled so my screen shot shows what I am keeping and not a lot of stuff that will never get used. I am also installing a lot of the software that came with this laptop like office or works and a lot of games. There is also some DVD stuff I want that was on here before.

Well I will get to making that list.

oh and I having been troubleshooting my system, seems sleep mode and my video drivers don't get along among other small issues that I want to clear up before installing more software.

this is a list of almost everything I have installed. Missing are the 3 alienskin plugins and some cisco apps that I have no clue where they came from or why they are even on my system.

    GFI backup - norton
    monopoly - came with laptop
    FL studio - deleted
    JetAudio - own
fotosketcher- free (was going to help replace PS)
    AcDsee - own
easeus partition master - have not found replacement

    bejeweled - came with laptop
    Plazmic - free app
networx - replaced many network apps
    magic dvd ripper - demo
businesscardMX - demo want to buy
blackberry - all free from RIM
alien skin - got it with PS deal
daz studio - free app replaces bryce
    quicktime - free version
steam - game app for America's Army free game

cuteftp- free version replaced paid version
    convertx - demo
teamviewer- free app replaced deleted software
surething CD labeler - came with laptop
adobe creative suite 4 - paying for it
    hashtab - free

this covers my current install base. I am looking for more free games (need something to do at the hospital) and anything else that might be really handy and FREE. All the free apps that came with my computer is way to much to list but I am extracting them from the recovery partition and istalling them since it had like 50 games, office student Ed, some version of works Power DVD and I can't remember it all. I know there was about 40GB of pre-installed software and I wasn't going though it all.

oh yeah and I am running Windows 7 ultimate retail 30 day demo that needs re-arming.

also learned that this laptop runs very HOT, like 58 C idle and 81 C when playing online flash games. wonder what its going to do when I really start playing games or using PS to its fullest. So I am off to find a free partition software and hopefully not pork my computer LOL.

OK, I guess at this point, I would consider it a done deal, only thing left to work out is how to get you your software. I see a couple options here.

    1) I could buy it directly at amazon.com and have it shipped to you as a gift for release day.

    2) If sharing address's isnt what you want (and honestly, I understand if not) we could kindly ask a mod or admin here to play 3rd party, meaning I pay-pal them the $$ for the software and they pay-pal it to you, or they buy the software and ship it to you.

    3) I could pay-pal you directly.

Honestly, my preference are 2 and then 1 and 3 as a last option. Any mods/admins care to chime in on this ?

You will still need someone here to explain re-arming to you though, agaian, as it will not be released untill Oct 22nd.

    and Congratulations to you.

Well you have imparted your trust onto me so I shall do the same and give you my address so it can be shipped directly. I will be moving the end of this month so I will have to update you as to where I am living. I will still be in Orlando we just need to live without our current room mate and not sure where just yet so many move in specials happening around town.

Thanks, this has been what I feel is an experiment, I didn't realize how working "undercover" on the internet for 10 years change how I see software use. Every time I used a computer I had to be the "hacker" heck I had people homeless in Huston who knew my internet persona and after that day 2 year ago I knew how I view computers and the internet was screwed up just a little. Getting sick and having to sell my old laptop kept me offline for most of 2008, got a netbook and ended right back trying to work again. I have always done graphic arts but kept it to myself now people want to pay good money for my pictures and going legit feels pretty good. Now to find a tutorial about re-arm and more info about my BIOS (don't like the limited settings on laptops) and I hope using a custom BIOS isn't consider piracy LOL.

I was able to fix my sleep issues by enabling some of the services I disabled, not sure which ones were the cause and really don't feel up to trouble shooting at this point but things are working again. Going to the Gallery in a few hours and the manager loves my recent work so things are looking good, I might be able to afford software again soon. Now If I can just get my internet working better.

    This is a great thread.

And a great thing being done by both parties involved.

Just went through this thread and didn't see these links, so if someone has already posted them, my apologies.

Two Seven Forums sites that have free software.

Partition Wizard is free and works with 64bit Win7, it loads as a 32bit but is fully supported for 64bit. I have used it with my 64bit OS and it works flawlessly.

FREE Great Programs for Windows 7

    Hope this helps,

Just felt like putting an update to all who have followed this thread. The one thing I didn't clean out was my bookmarks and I was looking for sites to visit and saw some of the places I don't visit any more and then I thought I wasn't missing anything because now I am visiting sites and learning about all kinds of stuff and not constantly looking for the newest thing to download and missing out on some cool stuff happening around the world.
