Your right... I am sure that Apple has some means of tracking or finding the lost merchandise... It's just a matter of time!

I was about to start a thread on this...glad I looked first! Anyways it is absolutely hilarious...I bet Apple is glad that they didn't market their stores at "The World's Most Advanced Technology Store"

Awkward. These stories must of been by the highway as they'd get caught by the local LEO's very fast (Depending on busy the PD is and if they have units nearby), if not they'd hit the highway and get out of the area as fast as they can.

They may have some custom "LoJack" style software like my laptop has.

If they wipe the os or not its tied to the BIOS.

Absolute Software - LoJack for Laptops

Great stuff.

I think Apple Systems have hard wired or at least permanently
assigned MAC addresses don't they

Easy enough to track if they end up going online for
updates or surfing hehehe.

Looks like they took a bite out of ye old Apple

The bank which I do business with was robbed yesterday. Now, normally this isn't such big news, but this isn't NYC . Crimes like this are very rare for this area, and when they do happen its a shock to most people. Articles on it: Search - PostStar.com

Anonymity on Interwebs is a positive thing. Isn't it? In my opinion, this is a sad example when it goes too far: a robber can present his catch and weapon, without fear of getting caught. Full story: http://www.urlesque.com/2010/11/22/guy-robbed-jewelry-store-4chan-pics/
