    Vintage Computer Advertisements from the late 1970s


    On a recent attic cleaning expedition, I encountered a box of Scientific American magazines from the late 70s. Each magazine is full of computer advertisements that provide an interesting peek back at the beginning of the computing industry. In this gallery, I will show you what I found.

    In those days computers were so big and specswise so small compared to today's systems. And the prices are also too much. Not everyone can afford the computers those days.

    My first personal computer in 1982 was Tandy TRS-80, and I could do only Basic on that computer. We have come a long way in computing in these 30+ years.

    It's interesting to note that due to the economics of manufacturing,mass production and improved processes, computers are are now much cheaper than the used to be for increasingly superior specifications even though the value of your dollar is much much lower than it used to be in the 70s from inflation....
