Windows 7: Two dead flash drives?

Windows 7 RC 7100 32bit/64bit

I recently fixed for a client a 60Gb usb 2.5" ide hdd that was crashing the system whenever you plugged it in! Gparted waited for ever to recognize and after that failed to fix...

I used diskpart (!) to clean it up (delete all partitions, took some time to complete) , then I created a 5 GB partition which I never formatted , just to occupy the free space, and with the rest of the space I created another partition of 55Gb. It appears that the first 5GB or some sector inbetween was causing the problem. Now the guy has a fully functional disk , except 5GB smaller...

i see the thing is nothing (also tried gparted and would only regconize the the usb-sata bridge though...) would read it except spinrite (which read it for some reason....)

i would have broken into the case but that would void my warranty (as more i thought that it was the the usb to SATA bridge...)
so i just returned it and got a complete new one (diferent usb-sata chip and HDD)
and its been working great (spinrited once before it got data and worked..)

of course, wpa2 needs passwd dict attack, but I shouldn't go further, that should be on a different thread...and/or forum!

i can only trust atheros with this....

of course wpa2 brute force is almost impossible...

Nope, haven't gone there..
I actually never thought u could get a pass with brute force...except if it was 1234 or helloworld...I don't know. In my cases, I got lucky , they were nickthegreek and maria1989john
But I don't think, esp in greece where they would use greek words with english characters ("greeklish") that any bf could crack a strong pass this way... go crack "thalassakaiaeras" (sea and air) .........

Thanks for the tip limneos, but it's a no go. It fails at clean. Worth a try though

well what i meant is doing it offline and working with a few tesla cards (or ps3's [remember the md5 certificate crack?] or a RISC/ARM or GPU supercomputer of your choice) is possible (only WPA2 (TKIP) not CCMP/AES)

WPA2-CCMP (really AES) is almost impossibly impossible to brute force

WPA2 CCMP.

I'm not a 100% sure he's tried, but there have been extended periods of WLAN light activity remarkably similar to repeated log on attempts.

Either way he hasn't succeeded

oh there is no way with the current tech to accomplish this....

(at least alone)

he would have to have either an array of PS3's (gotta love those cell processors[ ALOT OF THEM]) or a supercompter...lol

actually if you get a router disconnects then yes you have an attacker...
