Lets refrain from the "Kill the 360 for good" or the "Move on to another System"
blackrose wants advice on how to remedy his situation...not to disregard it altogether
Thanks Zid...I have invested enough in games, peripherals etc. that I am not going to jump to Sony's system.
Thanks for the advice and walkthrough John. Most of what I've found so far does seem to point to those X-shaped braces being a major issue because they aren't solid enough to stand up to high heat conditions.
I think before I put this system back together, I am going to have to take a trip to the hardware store. Barring any further advice, I will report back tomorrow on my success, or lack thereof.
If you manage to fix it please post your method and all materials used...I can use that info to fix my friend's

Oh, believe me, I will. After all the research I've done tonight, if a few bolts and washers fix it, I would be happy to pass on the knowledge to anyone I could.
BTW, Zid and John, I would rep you if I could. lol
Well hello there 7f!
I am faced with a pretty substantial career decision in the next couple days and always value any opinion I can obtain. I'll be honest nobody here can probably sway me one way or the other, but I may be able to look at something that I am missing in making this decision.

First of all this is not exactly the right place for this, since it isn't Windows 7, I am happy with the quality of Windows 7, it would be nice had Microsoft not dropped the ball so hard on the 360 though.
I know the RROD isn't news anymore, it's like beating a dead horse, sort of... Microsoft...
