what is "frequency" of human voice

for high voices we say that magnitude is high , and for low it is the magnitude which is low .

how we can interpret the term " frequency " when it is a characteristic of sound or more specifically human voice ? this is in general

in particular , i was reading a topic about DSL , then i read that the technology arises from a capability of the copper wires used in telephony , that they can carry very much frequencies i.e signals of very much different frequencies .

knowing that human voice occupies a specific range , and data another range , the telephony lines could be used for net without any interference with conversational signals and without engaging phone line .

what is meant by frequency of sound so ?

i don't speak about frequency in general ,, i.e in electical eng or electronics ...
there we do have a current runs back and forth then frequency is how many cycles per second .
or in optics ... the photon has certain frequency because it originates from an inetraction between electrical and magnetic fields ...

Sorry but why are you asking this in a Windows 7 forum? It has Nothing to do with Windows 7.

Take it to a forum that deals in such things.

Taken to extremes, it ranges from 60 to 7000 Hz.

    Simple question - complex answers.
Signal processing and mathematics define frequency in terms of things like Fourier series, Fourier Transforms etc..
But you may be talking more about the human production and perception of sound.
The vocal cords typically excite a time varying vocal tract to produce the spoken or singing voice.
The inner ear - anvil, stirrups, stapes; cochlear transform the sound waves like a non linear spectrum analyzer to stimulate cochlear neurons.
The whole system is magnificent but highly non linear and complex.
(I did work for quite a while in speech signal processing so I'm not really bullsh...ing.)

You must have googled this ????
Sound - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

And I think "Chillout" means what it says.

i just want the meaning of frequency when regarding voice or sound ....
if we dont hear the step sounds of ants' legs that could be because of the low intensity .. if a microphone or amplifier is used it may be heared .
on the other hand , massive universal explosions and hugr-mass bodies Collision take place in the universe and we dont hear them !
