Mac converters

After upgrading to windows 8 and giving it a real world test I have given up and bought a late 2012 I7 mac mini. I must admit for its size the power of this unit is amazing. Don't get me wrong, I still love windows 7. But Apple at least still respects users who want a real desktop experience. Much more than I can say for M$ at this point.

any free dvd converters ?
My DVD player is unable to read .mp4 files on the disc. Any suggestions on a software that can convert these videos ? I heard VOB is the standard format for the DVDs.

AIO = All in One I do a lot of Converting, between various audio and video formats respectively. I'm just curious if there is an AIO whether it costs money or not. My PC came with a bunch of stuff like Power2GO, PowerDirector and LabelPrint

Hey all, I use WinAVI to convert my videos to DVD & other formats, but it causes Windows (Vista & 7) to revert to the Basic theme. I was wondering if there was anything better out there as I have a lot of Vids I'd like converting. Or, is there anything designed specifically for Windows 7 yet? ...
