Mine sits on the right hand edge of my desk. I have a heavy case as well, the Antec P180. I think it's around 50lbs with everything in it. It doesn't sit on the floor as my computer is in the basement and I don't want to take any chances of the basement taking in any water. I may built a small little stool for it to sit on at some point to get it off my desk.

I place mine atop some old emachine towers that reside on the floor next to my computer desk.

I can't really vote, as I alternate between the floor and the desk. It varies on what I'm doing also, and what room I am in.

In my bedroom I usually have the desktop I use on a desk. In the living room however I would put it on the floor, don't know why.

(I almost put bathroom instead of bedroom. lol)

I mainly use my laptop though

Theoretically, you could get static electricity through the carpet.

I have two towers and they're both on shelves, in their own respective desk cabinets ...

On a TV stand, next to my (mis~appropriated lab table) desk: Puts the media drives right at arms reach, and aims the fans below the tabletop so they're less obnoxious.

I may go liquid cooling for the next build - if only to make the thing quieter.

Living in California causes smoke? Must be the fires.

Smoking keeps your lungs clear of the pine tar from the forest fires.

Need: Virtual desktops on monitor 1, previews of desktops on monitor 2
Hello, Program recommendation thread. I need 4 virtual desktops; I have 1 monitor at 1080p, and 1 monitor at 720p. I would like the 1080p monitor to display the active virtual desktop, while the 720p monitor consistently maintains a "preview grid" of all the desktops available. As of right...

I acknowledge this may be a silly question but here goes... For a normal tower computer without super duty fan has anyone ever bothered to determine at what ~ height off a carpeted floor will the fan suck significantly less carpet dust into the machine? Mark

Tower Inside Of CPU Desk Safe or Not?
I plan on purchasing this desk in the near future that will house the new PC I plan on building as well. The CPU Tower I plan on using is the NZXT Phantom 410. My question is, will it be unwise to house a PC tower such as the NZXT Phantom, inside the CPU storage area of the desk with the door...
