    What time is it?

My computer, which is synced to "time.nist.gov", tells me it is 8:55 am. My alarm clock, which is synced to NIST in Colorado, says it's now 8:53. And my cell phone puts it at 8:54. Since all of these devices are synced to the same official US time, shouldn't they all be the same? My Evil Plan for World Domination requires precise, split-second timing... what's a wannabe Supervillian to do?

What bites my backside (besides tall dogs) are TV stations that can't sync their clocks. It's the 21st century, for crying out loud.

Exactly. We all have a houseful of gee wiz hi-tech gizmos with more computing power than Apollo 12, yet they can't sync a clock correctly? What's up with that?!?!
