Going to spend next few hours with this:

Evaluation only but need to test it so why wait. Insomnia back, worse than ever. Slept 2 to 3 hour nights a couple of weeks now, clearly not enough for me but hate sleep meds so trying to let nature take its course and make me too tired to stay awake.

Kari have you tried timed-release Melatonin, the bodily hormone that regulates sleep which is heavily used by travelers to adjust time zones. I find it also resolves sleeplessness with heavier sleep. I take 5mg timed release. 10mg makes me groggy during the day. But it's not a drug but a supplement so safer.

I have tried Melatonin, I am the exception that makes the rule for it seems it does not work for me. I need too big dosage, it makes life unpleasant.

I have had these insomnia periods over 10 years now. It takes a few weeks, month and a half maybe and then one day I just collapse in bed, sleep 24 hours and the life is good again.

This worked for me after my hubby passed away after being found to have brain cancer.
I wasn't aware how tired I had become during his illness.
