For the first, it lets me to select the rendering engine independently for every site / page with one click. If a page works better in IE I simply switch to Trident engine, for another site I use WebKit engine (used by Chrome and Safari, for instance).
Most IE add-ons work when using Trident, most Chrome plugins when using WebKit.
When installing first time you can create an account. Log in to your account and the current PC you are using will get all your settings, favorites, history, passwords and usernames, everything. When first time logging in on a new PC you can set that PC as private or public. Public computers do not allow "Remember Me" function, instead you are automatically logged out from your account when you close the browser.
When I'm away I have a portable Maxthon with me on a USB stick.
I really like Maxthon. I usually browse using its Split Screen function:
