Well the new machine is up and running. I have all my programs installed on the new SSD including VM Box with Win XP and Win 8 installed. It also has both Wamp and Xampp with good size websites on them. I still have 80GB frre space. Offhand i can't think of any other important programs that I need to install. Sometimes I need to install a trial version of a program that one of my club members is using just to see what they are talking about when they submit a query but these I shall install on a partition on the second "normal" HD.
All in all I am delighted with the new machine. The documentation that came with it was excellent. I have the handbook for the mobo, the original OS disc in it's sealed box and all the software for the mobo. Never having used an SSD before I am staggered by the speed. This is particularly useful with the Wamp and Xampp software. I update the websites on my local machine and then upload to the host server. I use Joomla which has a very extensive Admin control panel. The speed that I can move within that panel is very impressive. This is going to save me a lot of valuable time.
    One very happy bunny!

    John,
I'm glad that everything is up and running to your satisfaction. I too have just taken possession of a new build PC which includes an SSD, something new to me, and I echo your comments re the speed! I am absolutely blown away by the way my system handles programs like Photoshop CS6 which, on my previous home build, made everything "chug" a fair bit. On my new system it loads in seconds and handles like a thoroughbred!!
