I'm partial to HP products and looking at the specs with the price tag....it's a great laptop for that price. I would classify it in the upper mid class range. A basic no frills laptop with some decent hardware specs.

I think it's a good laptop for the price :) just remember to remove the bloatware if you do buy it, for instance replace Norton with MSE and Malwarebytes.

"Is a laptop worth it???" ...... Well, a Laptop is "worth" however much you're willing to pay. Depends on what you want/need in a machine. Obvious drawbacks.... Windows 8 .....

Yes, it depends on how experienced you already are with Windows 8, if they intend to buy the laptop then it may be a good idea to start learning some of the functions from here:

By UK standards it is probably a good price. Just be aware that AMD CPUs run very hot. I would be looking for an Intel i5.

It takes a little tweaking, but you can make Windows 8 run just like 7.

AMD & win8. Two reasons why i wouldnt buy it, but i am a bit of an intel fanboy viva 7

But as others have said it does look like reasonable spec for the bucks
