I hear Abilene is due to get 1"-2" of snow. I'm supposed to get 4"-6" by Sunday night, 3.2.2014. Just lovely.

Yep, here too. We've been getting freezing rain and sleet since noon or thereabouts, has slowed traffic on the highway considerably.

Luckily today starts my 9 days off (well, 10 days, had a high fever yesterday so I called in sick) so I can just sit here and watch.

Sorry to hear you are sick on your time off. Hope you feel better soon so you can enjoy it.

Thanks for that. I do feel better now than I did yesterday. Let's see, my current body temp is 100.5F, down from a record 102.4F on Saturday.

Weirdly, the only other symptom is a nasty hacking cough and a bit of sneezing. No nausea, in fact I never lost my appetite. Usually a high fever denotes an infection but darned if I know where it is.

Digital fever thermometer is useless, the battery is always dead when I need it (which is seldom). Mercury-in-glass is the way to go.
