    Technet subscription

I have been thinking about getting a technet subscription so I can run my labs on full blown OS's instead of evaluation copies.

The main thing i need to know, will my product keys be valid if i don't renew my subscription?

    Example.

I install windows 7 pro use my technet key. 2 years down the road i don't renew for some reason. are my keys now useless and show up and not genuine?

    Thanks techies.

    Hello Casey,

The product keys used to remain valid after your subscription expires, but due to bad apples, the product keys are no longer valid when your subscription expires or not renewed.

You're welcome. To bad people have to abuse everything, and make it hard on all of us.

It does make since to do that though they have to get there money back. I can see people buying it getting all the software with keys then canceling and paying only 200 for it all. Oh well. If we only lived in a perfect world.

Final question on this topic. MSDN or technet which would be better?

    FYI i did read

The software provided with TechNet Subscriptions is designed for hands-on IT Professionals to evaluate Microsoft software and plan deployments. The software provided in TechNet Subscriptions can be used for evaluation purposes only. The software provided with MSDN Subscriptions is for design, development, testing, and demonstration of your programs. Both MSDN and TechNet subscriptions are licensed per user. It really depends on what your needs are for what subscription you want between them, and how much they cost. You can compare between them at the links below.

Well that was quick and dirty. MSDN is way out of my budget.

    Thanks again.
