It's usually new members who want all the rep right now. After they get used to how Seven Forums works, and it's all about the help/people, I think they calm down. There is still some importance put on rep as we congratulate people for new levels, etc. But I think after you have some, it just serves as confirmation of appreciation. There is a special satisfaction in getting 1 rep point from a new member who you have helped

Yep, I agree with you completely! While I, like others, DO appreciate all rep received its the little ones that bring a little more satisfaction. I can remember the time when I needed the help of forums like this (much more then than now)and how grateful I was for any answers I could get.

Having gotten off my soapbox now I would like to congratulate the new achievers! Keep up the good work!

I feel the reputation is only a byproduct of the work I do here. I come here to help people and solving their problems and having them happy when their problem is solved is really all that matters to me.

I also agree, and, as I said earlier, I hadn't realised my sig could be construed as 'rep-begging'. So I removed the relevant part, to avoid any confusion, although begging for rep was never my intent.

My satisfaction comes from being able to help, and from the enjoyment I get doing my GFX in Sigs & Avatars.

Keep up the good work, people.

    wenda.

Looks like you earned the guru badge a few days ago, I don't think it was posted yet.
