Student expelled for helping find security flaws at university
Student expelled for helping find security flaws at university | ZDNetA student at a Montreal university has been expelled and had his grades zeroed after he discovered and reported a flaw in the software that is responsible for holding students' personal information.
That's the thanks you get. I can sympathize. Two semesters ago, one of the PC's I was on in class was acting funny. I ran a scan with a portable AV on my FD & found it had the Alureon virus on it. I told the teacher, who promptly called IT & put me on the phone. After talking to them, giving them the PC number & describing the virus & what it does, someone else came on the line & asked me: "How do you know so much about this virus?" along with a few of other questions that ended with "Did you by any chance put this on the PC?"
Like I said....that's gratitude for you.....
