Today I remembered why I had a policy never to throw out any old working components . I decided that I would never need the box of old bits when I moved recently. Today I found a need for a 2x AGP graphics card for a broken system, there were at least two of them in the bits box
Oh well just means will have to see if anyone else locally has any spare as I don't want to spend a clients money on one as I'm not even sure the system just has a failed on Board graphics or something more serious
Thank Patrick,
eBay have several 128MB cards, (part worn), starting about £4.99, (on But-It-Now), so shouldn't be a major issue to grab one of those and try it.
Even if it turns out that it's, more than a M/B graphcs subsystem fault, it'll be a useful spare to have to hand for the future
Today.... I got a Email from Novatech (the place i ordered my new PC) with my package label in a PDF format (i know that sounds weird)
Then 2 hours ago, they took the money from my account. :)
So i'm counting on it being sent from the UK tomorrow, and i should have it by friday
Today, i went PC parts shopping, looking for everything, this part of the world is far behind AUS US and UK as far as PC technology is concerned, i can't seem to locate myself a DDR3 Mobo nor a pair of DDR3 RAM sticks to go with it..or a Nvidia GTX 295, or a Core i7.
Visiting the capital Manilla soon, so lets hope they have there.
actually you will have this trouble more places than not, i've always had problems finding top of the line components at local retailers and i've lived in large cities until just recently, mostly the market isn't large enough to justify keeping those items on hand. on a side note all i really did today was play mafia wars and help my sister with a design project.... still not sure she understands if she wants a career in graphic design i'm not going to have the free time to keep up with her needs and she should really learn how to do it all on her own.
Orpheous - I bought it from scorptec (down south), chose the parts myself and got them to build it. When it arrived I was getting BSoD right after installing windows 7. Tried to resolve it myself with the help of some folks on here :) but I couldn't fix the issue so I sent it back and asked them to take a look. I received an email from them today saying they have shipped it back with an invoice for $0. I assume that the problem was with the new hardware and they have repaired it free of charge. I'll get it back next week. If I have any problems, I'll let you know since you're local and all
