My girlfriends friend just dropped in for a visit with her three kids. Luckily, I rarely see them.

The girls, 10,12 are okay - the younger one is always a bit quiet around me to begin with, but eventually warms up. The eldest one you can actually have a conversation with.

But the son who is 8 and has a serious case of ADHD and god knows what else... Let's just say it was a bit much for me to deal with when I hadn't even been awake for 5 min...

Thank Flap I have an xbox 360...

Parents (especially those with troubled or naughty ones ) I salute you.

As they drove away, I turned to my GF and said "And that is why I'm glad I don't have kids"
i've got a niece thats bad like this. over christmas while the family was together my brother 23 and fresh outta the navy and my niece 4 were playing mario kart on the wii. naturally my brother one and was teasing her laughing telling her she lost. so she took her wii controller hit him in the nuts with it, and when he fell on the ground she kicked him in the rips and says "HAHA who's laughing now!!!" and that girl is the reason im terrified of having one of my own.

Been busy today, shopping this morning then putting it away reading the local weekly rag then decided it was time I booted back into Vista and got it up to date along with NOD32 that resides on that partition.
Had 14 Windows Updates for it plus SuperAntiSpyware and Windows Defender, got the thumbs up from Secunia PSI that all was patched so time to come back into Windows 7 and catch up with emails, RSS Feeds and Newsgroups then cook and eat evening meal and here I am in the forums at last.

Today I've been in bed all the day. I have flu, feeling really sick. Drinking tee with a drop of whisky, bedside table full with books and remotes, a mouse and a keyboard. Surfing both TV and net, trying to read a book, sneezing, getting up only to get new batteries to HTPC's bluetooth keyboard.

I'm freezing and sweating, no solid food stays inside. This is PITA!

Sorry to hear that, Kari. Perhaps I'd better block you until you get better? Wouldn't want to catch it myself...

    Kari,
Sorry to read that you are unwell.
Tom has quite a point. You could "enjoy" the best of bad health.............& any other distractions that you can put your hands on!

Thanks for sympathy, geeks. I've been trying a cure known to us enthusiasts as "The Highland Cure": Fill a large mug with black tee, add a bit sugar and whisky. Sip and enjoy, fill the mug every now and then with whisky.

I'm still going to be sick tomorrow morning so I don't care to add some self caused headache.
