I'm with Uber Philf. I can put more clothes on and be warm, but can only take so much off before trouble ensues.

Happy Independence Day Kari. Traditions are a wonderful thing. Hope you had a wonderful celebration!
Main event was already yesterday evening and thanks, it was nice. Some 20+ expats, most like me with a German partner, wife or husband. Today only the church and blue-white candles in every window as is custom in Finland.
Tews, you are right: Got a bottle of 25-year old Caol Ila last Christmas, it is going to be opened tonight after finishing the fabulous dinner my wife is already preparing. This is one of the three occasions yearly my wife let's me smoke a Havana in the house so I'm fully prepared. It's going to be a relaxing evening watching the internet live feed from the President of the Republic of Finland's official reception from back home.

Kari Enjoy that bottle of Caol Ita and your meal. Then kick back and light up that Havana and hopefully hear good news from your President. Enjoy your celebration. Fabe
Thank you geeks. The thing is, I have been living half of my 50 years, most of my adult life abroad. You other immigrants here on Seven Forums certainly know the feeling and can understand me: even I love my life here in my voluntarily adopted country with my German wife, I am always going to be a Finn. That's where mother and other family lives, that's where my heart wanders every time I feel a bit sad, every time I start thinking how nice it would be to be able to use my native language.
It seems every year abroad strengthens my patriotism.
