nice 1, Sounds like a plan to me mate.
I want to get one of those 8350's later in the year when the price comes down a bit more and just stick it in the cupboard for a while or maybe chuck my 6100 in there. That way then i'll get a couple more years out my board. Otherwise nobody will be stocking them when the next cpu/socket comes out.

The Steamroller might be on a AM3+ socket but not sure
If there is to be another socket I hope to god it is backwards compatible with the chips we have now

Lets hope so aye mate, It makes upgrading easier as it can be done in steps instead of needing a new motherboard with every different cpu.

So you don't get the tressfx effects with the 670's ?
Sorry chap i missed this question before. I've only ever seen TresFX mentioned with AMD but i maybe wrong.
I just defaulted my bios ready to try some settings like you suggested and now my h100 has stopped making that noise. So i'm thinking it may have been down to the voltage the cpu fan header was putting out

AMD will never be able to compete with Intel on desktop CPU's because they sold off their foundry awhile back. They can't make architecture changes like they want, and they can't reduce die size like they want........they will design around what the foundry can produce at that particular moment. That is not to say they don't have good products out there, not at all.......but they are severely limited in that aspect. Intel will still make more powerful CPU's core-for-core and clock-for-clock, and AMD will still put out good value CPU's. There is a reason why their top of the line CPU is around $200......it's because that's what level it competes at with Intel. Good thing about AMD is the price of their motherboards. You can get a top of the line AMD CPU and a top of the line motherboard quite a bit cheaper than it's direct competitor from Intel. All that is good stuff!

Here are the Hot Fixes that everyone is talking about to Increase AMD FX performance

These disable core parking and better coding for WIN7
Are these the same hot fixes that were released after the Bulldozer or are they newer?

Same one's you probably are talking about i never used them personally

but these hotfixes are always a topic on the latest web videos and such thought i would post them just because too many people still ask or bring them up when i think windows incorporated them into a update somehow as you seen 2 bulldozer rigs on here i have played with and i never complained about sh**** results

Average person can't even tell how fast anything is going unless there benching it known fact and you know you can bring people over show them how fast you rig boots etc etc and not even know you were using AMD until you started spilling out the specs some people are like hypnotize at the fact that Intel can jump all over any AMD with performance but.............I feel that now more and more people are starting to build rigs people who are not to sure what to get and don't want to spend a ton start looking at the budget side of things

I been on a lot of forums where they say only the poor buy AMD that's a fools statement because everyone knows Rich well off people are the most stingy and frugal people you will run into and usually they will get free everything just for being them

Now there is a thing if you work hard for it sure why not you deserve to spend your money on what you think is the best and that is how it should be for me i stuck with AMD because i put learning into what i am doing with this rig the more i learn the more i can do

I don't hate Intel or Nvidia always owned there products till recently I think in general sense i got every bit of what i paid for and if it gets beat by someone else that is cool but i know for a short while i got more system power than the average joe so that makes me happy i'm never surprised about seeing kick ass Rigs Tech is always changing and first adpaters give you a better scale of things

Personally i think I've done well showing people how to properly clock a FX chip with good results i'm not to keen on how all these other guys are just throwing voltage around without other adjustments it's an art not a paid hooker

Agree'd I didn't know about the hot fixes myself untill i came across them by accident on another forum and when i searched just to see if they were legit i only found a couple of reference's to them. So yes mate it's good that you shared them. i always forget about them after a clean os install too lol.
Ya doing a grand job at helping folk with BD/PD oc's too.
    Nice 1 chap

Why is my CPU out of control ??????

I don't know either to be happy or to be worried

I been messing with my clock settings and backed off my FSB Oc and focused on using the Multi

but ......... before doing so I noticed my clocks spiking up and down spiking at least 2 to 6 increments on the FSB from 208 to 214 at times and my speed gets bumped up high then goes back down to what it was set

I took a screen shot as example Core temp shows 4.904 Ghz Cpuz Shows up clocking to 5046Ghz

Everything is stable and the up clocking did impact the system as in getting higher benches also it is very stable and I am not using AMD turbo mode it is off

I went as far as to update the bios and reset everything to default it still does this I just recently had a conversation with Ganjiry about this he says this happens with all AMD chips first time I have seen this anyone else have seen this before?
