    Microsoft joke

A helicopter was flying around above Seattle when an electrical malfunction disabled all of the aircraft's electronic navigation and communications equipment.

Due to the clouds and haze, the pilot could not determine the helicopter's position. The pilot saw a tall building, flew toward it, circled, and held up a handwritten sign that said "WHERE AM I?" in large letters. People in the tall building quickly responded to the aircraft, drew a large sign, and held it in a building window. Their sign said "YOU ARE IN A HELICOPTER."

The pilot smiled, waved, looked at his map, determined the course to steer to SEATAC airport, and landed safely. After they were on the ground, the copilot asked the pilot how he had done it.

"I knew it had to be the Microsoft Building, because they gave me a technically correct but completely useless answer."

...then what does that make us for buying their products? Desperate for a laugh?

Nope. Just desperate. I should rephrase what I said: Microsoft has become a joke.

And why do you think that? or are you just on the haters bandwagon?

I was perfectly happy with M$ until they tried ramming Win 8, Office 2013 (which essentially trippled in price), and Office 365 down our throats.

I thought about asking this question...
...but I was not sure what constituted staying on topic - more MS jokes

I figured the recent MSE update thing was the last straw for Lady Fitzgerald.

...and then there is W8's uptake rate. The market and hardware is in transition, so I'm not sure that uptake rates can be compared.

They stop working properly when you open Windows.

Not quite the last straw (although MSE is a lost cause for me). I'm all set to run Win 7 and Office 2010 until 01/2020. If M$ hasn't cleaned up their act well before then, I'll be looking for alternatives.
