    PC Sales have steepest decline

Another article discussing PC sales decline. Do the ever mention custom builders as a reason? The always refer to well tablets replaced laptops and users not adapting to W8. We have all seen the end of the desktop articles.

I just bought a new laptop in November of last year and I went to a custom builder so I did not have to deal with Windows 8 at all, and was able to order it without the OS and used my retail copy.

Desktops/laptops are declining since no-one wants to adapt to Windows 8, and why should they?

Also, many consumers will only go and buy another Desktop/laptop when their current machine has completely broken beyond repair, my step-dad is still using an old Windows XP laptop with no problems at all and no intention of upgrading.

Smartphone and tablet sales are much higher, since they tend to become outdated and "unfashionable" among consumers very quickly, for example the iPhone, I know many people will go and buy the new iPhone just because it's new, not because they understand the new features (if any) or need a new phone, they believe new must mean better, and my friends have it so I must go and get it also.
