I'm not sure but I think the judges take the entrants' stories as a big part in the winners' selection. Maybe someone has some writing skills to help amber with some ideas?

I'm sorry to hear that, Amber! Next year will be bigger and better - with the full voting window we can really rack up some votes!
I would once again like to thank everyone who took time out of their busy schedule each day to vote for me in The Life Moving Forward Contest for the handicap accessible van during National Mobility Awareness Month. Although I did not win a van this year, as a result of all of the avenues used to promote it some amazing things have happened in my life. I'm from Benton County which consists of a few small towns. Boswell is a small town located about seven miles away from the town of Oxford where I live. For the last couple of years the Boswell Fire Department has been trying to do an annual benefit fundraiser for someone in the community who is in need of something. This year on May 19,2013 I was given some amazing news and an incredible gift! I was told that I was nominated for and accepted as the person that they would be doing this years benefit for. My house is old, and falling apart around me. Nothing works as it should. On September 21, 2013 a benefit will be held to raise the money to tear down my current home, and build a handicap accessible one in its place. I am so overwhelmed and grateful, this is far more than I could ever do on my own. Thank you all for your support.
That's great news Amber! Congratulations on your soon to be new house.
That's an amazing story, Amber. Congratulations. I'm very happy for you. I think we would all like to know how it goes for you and would be happy to help if we can. Thanks for letting us know.
Great news !
I hope you send us lots of pic's, before, during and after if you can.
