Still listening to Mozart string quartets (there are a LOT of them: six CDs worth) but, later today, I'm going to be ripping four CDs I picked up from my mail service:
I Hear Voices with Strings. This is a Sequel to their first album, I Hear Voices (also the name of the band) who sing a mix of Gospel, Bluegrass, Folk, etc. mostly with SATB harmonies. They are out of Tucson, AZ; I first heard them up in Prescott last October. Two of the singers are members of the Ronstadt family (you can't throw a rock in Tucson without hitting a Ronstadt and all of them are musically talented).
Trio II. Sequel to Trio, consisting of Emilylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt, and Dolly Parton singing three part harmony.
Linda Ronstadt's Duets. Linda Ronstadt singing duets with various entertainers. One member of I Hear Music shared one track from this album—Pretty Bird—with me and it blew me away so I decided to get the album.
Renaissance Men - Canadian Brass. The Renaissance is my second favorite period of music (second only to Baroque), I especially love brass compositions, and the Canadian Brass are an exceptional brass ensemble. I also needed to pad my Amazon order to qualify for free shipping. Being the cheap old bi...broad I am, I maintain a bunch of items in my Amazon wish list that I want but don't immediately need to use for padding orders I do want right away so I can dodge shipping charges (for me, Amazon Prime would be a rip-off).
