I'm sorry to hear that Tom.

Hopefully the computer will burst into flames on them, and burn their butts' to a crisp.
    Me too!

Must have been someone who knew your schedule or were away(hospital) and that's when they
paid a visit to your home.
Might want to check pawn shops in your area.

Hope the catch the low life's and you retrieve the stolen items.

Today, I came home from the VA (over night procedure) to find that my house was broken into and they took everything, including my computer. Fortunately I had an old XP POS, that I can use for now, but with my limited income, I doubt that I will be able to replace it any time soon. The police doesn't seem to think they will be able to do much. They dusted for fingerprints, and now there's black powder all over the place. I'm so pissed off, I cant think straight!
Tom, I have no words. Hang on there.

Do you know your mac address by chance? I'm kinda of a major nerd that i know mine.....if you did you might be able to track it down. Might.

But the thief will probably turn around and sell it.

That really sucks. I'm so sorry tom. Any personal info on it? Hopefully not.

Sorry to hear that Tom, some people don't have any respect for people's property.

It was a desktop, and I'm sure it's long gone by now...

Sorry to hear that, Tom! I can't imagine what it would feel like to lose my computer.

For those who might find this useful, I use, and love, Prey:

    Recoveries ? Prey

Fortunately, I haven't had to use it properly yet, but it's one more safeguard I have should things turn nasty.

On the up side, at least you still have a great name

Great link tom982. Never knew about a free offering for that before. I knew there was free offerings on android, like avast for instance. But I was not aware for the laptop or desktop something free like that. The only one I ever heard about was lojack.
