I learned to drive in a 1972 Dodge Monaco (family car) in 1978 or thereabouts. It was like piloting an aircraft carrier. Constantly had planes trying to land on the hood (bonnet).

Ours was white with a white vinyl top. The headlamp doors were always open because mechanism was broken, a common fault.

I learned to drive in a 1966 Pontiac Catalina station wagon that was our family car, it was like a land yacht.
