    Maybe it works for just certain combinations. I just tried it for 3,5,7,11,13,17,19,23,29. The sum of these primes is 127, which is not evenly divisible by three. I think I just got lucky. I have tried some other combinations, prime and otherwise, and it doesn't work??!!

    OK geeks, you are too good, we need something more difficult. This one from 5th grade math book from Finland :).

    Here we have a scale:

    We have also 14 weights: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 15 kilograms (pounds if you prefer). Notice that 11 kg (pound) weight is missing and not needed in this puzzle.

    I have placed the one kg (pound) weight already, now you need to place the others so that the scale remains balanced. Notice that each colored bar doubles the counterweight a weight can balance as explained here:

    (Those 2 and 4KG weights used here only as example; they need not to be placed in these places.)

    Mark my words: I will find one you cannot solve within a few minutes, even if it takes a few years to find it :).

    About as long as it takes me to remove thistles out of my socks when playing from the rough!
    Ouch! just took another one out.
    Must learn how to play from the fairway(short grass).

    Quite simple, really. Just remember to aim for the fairway and not at Topper, who's probably munching in the rough!
