    Dell ... laugh a minute :)

I had a laugh today with Dell tech support .....
I had to go to a client today that has 4 Identical Dell laptops, 2 Dell PC's and 1 Dell server. They have purchased the dell business support package which isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

One of the laptops crashed and unfortunately the customer hadn't created the recovery discs ... not a problem I'll just reinstall windows and use the OEM product key from the sticker on the underside of the laptop .... problem No Sticker (but the other 3 do have) Checked the invoice from Dell and all is above board & shows Win7 pre installed, contacted MS and they told me that it's a counterfeit version of win7 installed and we should contact Dell. We did this and Dell then proceeded to tell me that they do not ship any laptops with a windows product key sticker affixed to the unit due to security issues. When I explained that I have 3 identical laptops purchased at the same time that clearly have the stickers I was told that I was lying.
I then took pictures and mailed them to dell showing that I did infact have stickers, I was then told that I had edited the images and these weren't genuine.
Well after allot of pushing shouting and arguing I decided for some reason to remove the battery (dunno why) but low and behold A WINDOWS STICKER
I called Dell back quoting my ref. number and they pulled up the case history, I then told them that I'd found the product key to which my amazement they told me that this was impossible and that I was again lying just to try and get them to send me a new OEM disc and key free of charge

That is unbelievable! So they are saying all these Dell OEM stickers are counterfeit? Like this one or the others found with a simple Google search?

And Dell claims it's all Windows 8's fault their sales have fallen. Maybe its just stupid people running Dell. Maybe that's why Michael wants to buy them back and clean house.

Windows 8 PC's don't come with COA stickers so maybe somebody at the "outsourced" call center got confused? Still that's pretty lame saying your lying and making it up?

I've worked at Dell Technical Support in the past.
I second that now a days, these so called technical agents are dumb ass.
However, many a times it is also the company's fault by not providing adequate training and hands on experience on new products resulting in assumption theories.

I find it interesting that they were so sure of themselves that they had no qualms about telling Nick he was lying.

    That's probably it right there.
