Proxies now being blocked by SKY in the UK

    Hi there
Not only is the UK quite content to allow the NSA via it's software mechanisms to gather everything you have done on the Internet including sites you've googled (not even visited) but now ISP's are beginning to block PROXIES as well which was never in the Court judgement.

Welcome to the new "Democratic Republic of N.Korea --European section." The UK must have an unenviable first position in doing this --even in China they haven't got around to this type of blocking yet.

Mind you blocking proxies won't work for long as you'll have Proxies for the other proxies etc etc and stuff in any case will be passed around privately. Another method is to execute an application which then uses something like no-IP which dynamically can find the actual IP address of an unblocked proxy and then call it directly. The ISP would have no log of the final IP address actually accessed.

What could happen is the whole Internet gets strangled as who will eventually know what's legit and what's not.

In any case there's no LAW about using Torrent sites --it's actually what CONTENT you get from them - and if I can't get TV shows etc --even if I am willing to BUY THEM then I'm going to continue to use these.

If Movie CEO's etc made their products readily available at sensible prices to consumers everywhere at the same time then 90% of the problem would go away. There are literally 1000's of TV shows that are never likely to be shown where I live and a lot of these will take YEARS to come on to DVD (and who uses physical DVD's these days anyway).

I am more than willing to subscribe (pay for) TV streaming and movie streaming services but these are so riddled with regional restrictions (for example HULA TV) that Torrents or proxies are the only way to access these services.

    Cheers

the other method is of course for torrent sites to have a dynamic IP and DNS service.
