    im going with either 68 (for factor of 11 ) or 69 (for my original post theory)
    as there is no 116 it cant be 79,
    its almost like an optical illusion your mind assumes there is a 116 therefore you add 22 by mistake

    also that would make it 68 if it is factors of 11
    so im closest. but no cigar. i dont smoke

    so are we right in thinking then there are two possibilities 68 and or 69

    Julian, both explanations give the same result, except that your 117 = 69 does not fit in. It must be 79. Your explanation is IMO valid if we admit you forgot the 116 = 68 which would be logical, as if it was purposely left out to make an extra twist.

    If we agree that 116 is missing, then both explanations are valid: numbers on the left increase with one and numbers on the right with 11, OR X + Y where (X has a starting value of 0) X = X + 10 and Y = sum of digits on the left.

    i think the missing 116 is the key factor.
    its an illusion.
    my original theory works as 1+1+7=9 +60 as it is going up in 10's
    115 =57
    therefore the next is 60 + the sum of the digits 1+1+7=9 =60+9 =69
    so 117=69

    or if its factors of 11 then 57 + 11 = 68

    tricky , no clear solution to one.

    Julian, there must be an explanation for that missing 116. Really.

    There's so many ways to get 79 there it must be right, as for instance your "modified" explanation agreeing that 116 is missing, Shawn's explanation, or my solution that the last digit of the number on left is the first digit of the number on right and sum of digits on the left is the last digit on the right.
