    Thanks Harry for that ref now most of it goes over my head as I am a hardware plonker as a rule but it did provoke me to go looking at what the kernel is and does, and what caught my attention was that analogy of Vir of the secret agent and the security as I tend to understand far better by analogy than someone just belting it out.

    So I am now a touch wiser

    Yes well I wish I could get it into my head re those codes and stuff but I don't understand how the software is written and I guess that is half the battle eh?
