Hopefully Mike has gone to a better place.... Thankfully he had friends like Dennis and others at Seven Forums that made it that little bit easier when things weren't so good. Rest in peace Mike pal.
My thoughts go out to his family and friends ... he will be truly missed ...........

I know you will not hear this but I shall miss you being around Mike. We were only knew each other through here but it still seemed as if I had known you for years.

To me you were always patient, kind, generous, humorous and most of all a true gentleman which I hold as the greatest stature that a man can have.

I know that you are resting in peace wherever you are and that there will be no more worries, strife or pain for you.

You will be so sadly missed especially by myself.

My condolences from my family and I to your own family and just to let them know that you were an exceptionally decent human being.

Sad news indeed. The email Anna sent to Dennis brought a tear to my eye. Mike was one of those who shared the same sense of humor as myself, Dennis, and a few others here. It's always a puzzle why bad things happen to good people. There is some solace in knowing Mike knew the affection we all held for him. And he had Dennis, his good friend to stand by him , so to speak, in the end. I have missed him, but it is sad to know we will not ever see him again. I can only celebrate who he was, and know his pain is no more. RIP Mike, we will miss you. Bill

It's been a long day trying to think of all the good things Mike has done for us here in Seven Forums and what sticks out the most is he was a kind, gentle and caring member. Just not enough room to describe the man.
He didn't have all the answers, no one does, but was able to direct us to the appropriate place for help or in my case he would tell me where to go.

When I talked to him he was always asking if I was behaving myself and not being too sarcastic which I immediately said I would try harder just for him. He wanted to know what was going on in the forum and if I found any volunteers to clean Topper's stall so I gave listed Gary, Bill, Steve, LPt, and Nick if he came across the pond.

Enough of my babbling but I know that Mike went with both guns blazing and Love for Eileen, Anna and all the relatives that is compared by only a few.

As he rides off into the sunset he bids us all a Adios singing Bye Bye Miss American Pie!

See you on the other side Mike "Rest In Peace!"

    "A COWBOYS LAST REQUEST"
    By Terry Ike Clanton

    Let me tell you folks
    Who have gathered here today
That I'm a proud and thankful cowboy
    Who has just passed away

    I know it's hard
    But, please don't cry
Fer I'm now ridin' Gods trails
    High up in the sky

    The hoss I'm ridin' now
    Don't spook, buck or kick
    Fer God stables perfect horses
And now I have my pick

Lord, please forgive me of all my sins
    Fer I haven't been perfect
But I know that he who believes in You
    Forever wins!

I have lived a good life
    A cowboys dream come true
    Thank You Lord,
Fer I'm now ready to ride into eternity
    Me, my horse, and You.

    RIP Mike

Yes Mike was indeed one of a kind friend and helper. Early in my "career" here I gave him some little thing about his GPU, which is identical to mine, so then I was a GPU guru, at least to Mike.
I had spoke to him twice on the phone when he was in the hospital and I could tell he was a very down to earth person and good human being. (He spoke kindly of Dennis) He, Dennis, and I seemed to have some spars but it was fun and all in jest and we tried to Topper each other.

I teared up when I wrote a PM reply to Dennis on the news of Mike's passing. Mike was strong and a fighter.

Hopalong is a name known to all here.

Like all things come to an end, his life too ended.

But the good men do, will forever remain and so will Hopalong.

    RIP Hopalong.
