Seriously Until AMD hammers Intel down hard no-one really cares except people who are not all about spending money for something that is the best when there are sensible solutions I could have easily spent money on a top notch intel rig but seriously I get a kick out of messing with AMD

I might not be killing Intel gamers with 3570k's clocked super high but hell I give them a run for there money my specs aren't cheap and anyone who knows anything will tell you I have enough to beat out a lot of rigs without it being the best just my two cents

Just so you two will know, I'm not an AMD hater. I just think Intel is better right now. before sandy Bridge came out I was running an AMD rig. When and if AMD comes out with a better CPU I will probably go back. I'm the same with GPU's. I have 2 rigs, one with an AMD card and one with an Nvidia card. When I bought my 6950, I thought I got more performance for my money with AMD. When the 7000 and 600 series came out, I felt the other way. AMD has come out with some new cards since and so has Nvidia, so it may be different now, but I'm not looking for another and would probably go Nvidia right now to SLI. It wouldn't make a lot of sense to do different. My opinion is, in the end it does not make much difference. Unless you are pushing your card at 100%, there is no difference. That is the only time the difference is noticeable. Either one will do what most of us do very well, and benchmarks are the only way to really see the difference. But benchmarks are just that and have little to do with every day performance. You guys CPU and GPU will play BF3 as good as mine, and that is all that really matters. So, don't count me in with the haters, I'm not.

I have always leaned toward Intel myself. After reading up and looking at Solarstarshines setup I am thinking of building an AMD rig too. Then I can have the best of both worlds.

It wasn't directed at anyone mate, Just in general online or wherever people slate folk for not going with Intel. Plenty of folk just want to build budget rigs for gaming but they get grief for it. There's no doubt Intel make better cpu's just not everyone needs that much performance but gong to other forums and social networks people don't consider what the person wants and always say you must go with them.

While we're on the subject of AMD. Somebody mentioned to me that AMD were planning to release another cpu on the same socket. I thought that the Fx series was the end of the line for the AM3 sockets as they've took it as far as they can.
Do you think there would be any truth to it or just people chatting bubbles?

I'm not brand bounded but AMD has served the purpose for what I was looking for in my rig. Runs great and runs at frame rates I find suitable. Also not too expensive and still does and runs how I want it. I just go for what ever is better for the money and meets my needs. My current rig meets my needs so i'm happy. Great video btw, watched it all the way through and was surprised myself.

The new Chip will be Steamroller that is supposedly going to fill the FX line they are all named after construction vehicles Bulldozer Pile Driver Excavator and Steamroller this is what I have read and gather so far could be wrong but all I see is Streamroller or Excavator they could be the same you know the name scheme

Also Steamroller might be the one to take down the 3770k time will tell

    also this article http://vr-zone.com/articles/amd-push...ses/17088.html

Looks like Intel is going to have some issues soon sounds like they got the issues fixed and fired the last CPU designer and got the best one money could buy Intel even said it wow !
