my cousin bought a chinese andriod tablet for my son for only US $100 (613 chinese yuan). it has written VAIO on the back, but there is no mention of sony on it.......

also if it was sony tablet it would have priced more in the range of $250-400 i think

My brother got a Samsung Android tablet from Taiwan for INR 5000 (80 USD approx.) and it definitely is not a Samsung

Since its an Android tablet, you can check in System Settings -> About Tablet where it should have some details about the Model, Android Version and stuff.
You may get a clue there, but its probably a Genuine Imitation Sony VAIO :)

    Hi kf10,

I doubt its a Sony tablet. However, check this how you can find the model number for Sony Tablet which would be helpful for you:

    Sony Tablet™

Tablet S: The model number is located on the back of the unit in the bottom-left corner. (e.g., SGP-T112US/S)

Tablet P: Gently remove the bottom / back cover. The model number is in the top-left corner, inside the compartment. (e.g., SGP-T211US/S)

Xperia Tablet: The model number is on the back of the tablet as shown here. (e.g., SGP-T121US/S)

Even if you know the brand, it's likely useless. Chinese ripoff manufacturers don't usually provide any support nor spec sheets afaik. I never saw VAIO tablets. Sony mobile product lines are called Xperia.

Would be more useful knowing what is its SoC (system on a chip, its CPU/GPU/Chipset combined), so you will know what this thing is capable of.
This app will help you getting its specs, for comparison you need to google it, or drop the specs here and I'll try to answer myself (if I can).

Sony don't do a VAIO Android tablet, so there's a big clue right there whether it is Sony, or not
