Hey Doug I did the same thing but ran out of Bacon

So I used Dry salami instead and it came out pretty proper

That was fun, they came out a little hotter than the usual ones we eat. The wife and I like hot stuff, but I used jalepeno cheddar cheese as the stuffing and she could only eat 1 1/2 of them We will eat more later they are warm!

I'm hooked on the stuffed fried poppers myself,
Something about peppers and grilling them makes them hotter,
Most people Flame kiss to remove the skin first as it tends to toughen up after cooking.

You are right, the grill method did seem to be hotter. It did make for a fun afternoon cooking though
