    Download speed induced rant

Bought a new graphics card on Amazon, got a free game. Cool, there was no mention of it on the Amazon info page.

So, I set about to redeem this game code. :)

First, I have to log on to Nvidia's website to get another code. Then, I have to log on to Ubisoft's website to get yet another code. Of course, you can't just redeem a code, they want your life history and that of your paternal grandmother before you get anything.

Then, I must install Uplay to download the game. It's a big download and it started off well enough...was getting about 2 MB download speeds until it hit 85%. Then *BAM* it's dial-up speed time!

Seeing as how I'm a mostly level-headed person, I think that there could be a problem with my connection or my PC. Nope, the Speedtest.net results are typical of what I usually get.

    Aaarrrrgh!

The fact that you were getting ~2MB for 85% wasn't a clue that the problem was at the other end?

It is extremely frustrating when it occurs though

It's probably ubisofts severs limiting your download speed on there sever where the game is being downloaded from. Also they could be having sever issues, that would be my other guess.
