    Portable Coding Notepad...

I'm looking for a portable version of Notepad++ or something similar to it.

I'm currently using Notepad++ but it doesn't have the compile feature for some reason, and it won't include things like "windows.h" or other things needed. I can't even save the HTML/PHP/CSS/PHP files either.

Anyone got another program suggested? I can't install programs, so anything thats an installer exe I can't run.

    PortableApps.com

Even though it seems to say "install" at one point, it just extracts it to whatever drive you want it on (say, a usb drive) and runs the .exe from there. So they are portable.

Why can't you install anything if I might ask?

Don't know why Notepad++ doesn't support any of them file types for you.

I use Notepad++ for all of my programming stuff, including C, PHP, web dev. I just tested it now and managed to save a .h file perfectly fine.

If you can't install stuff, then get the .zip package of Notepad++.

Notepad++ by standard is just a text editor too. You can't compile C code with it. You can look at the Eclipse C/C++ editor, which comes with everything you need and as a .zip package too iirc, so no install needed.

Security features. I'm locked out of Administrator Account. I have to use portable versions, or pre-installed to an external drive.

I found a lot more goodies on there. I just have to be careful with things. The network guy here is a total bad ass, and he finds anything we do. I have my External 4GB SD Card, and he figured out that I bypassed the non-bootable drive by using the SD -> USB Reader. =/

Edit: Can't download Eclipse C/C++ Editor. Its 108mb and anything above a 25mb file gets flagged. I'll get in trouble for even changing the web browser. Government facilities and all.
