I've had the S3 since launch, so I'm looking to the S5 for my next upgrade. I tend to take these 'leaked' designs with a pinch of salt...but the rumour of a metallic back, more powerful camera and 64bit processing have come up on several websites. But if you put a wish list together I guess you would put these on it - I would also include a decent 8mp front facing camera and 4k video capability from the main camera. Also the ability to take up to 128gb SDHC cards and at least 32gb on board...I could go on!!

My current phone has a monochrome screen, polyphonic ringtones, makes calls, sends sms's, has an alarm function and that's about it. Oh yes there's a torch too. I got this when I upgraded from my iphone 3GS. I say upgraded cos' this phone goes everywhere with me and gets dropped and banged about, is exposed to high heat when I forget it in the car (this is Africa, after all) and has never let me down once...
My point: all the fancy high-tech phones fail to impress me. I need something that's absolutely 100% reliable.

lol...
I'm simply saying that all three smart phones I owned (iPhone, TyTN II and Touch Pro 2) gave me huge problems. A broken touch screen cost me R1600 to repair, fiddly interfaces (HTC in particular), very poor battery life, weight (this is a biggie). There's more but you get my point.
My current phone is a bit of a dinosaur but it is simple and quick to use, solidly built, battery lasts me days, etc. Since I run a design/engineering business I need that kind of reliability. Camera phone? I have a real camera. x64 OS? Unless its from Windows and can run all my engineering software there's no point really. Not to mention I like sitting at my desk with my desktop purring away (see system specs), a nice big monitor, all my CADalogues, etc, etc...
I'm all for technological improvements. Sometimes though it seems like they are more for showing off than actually making life simpler.

Agree with you. If a user does not need all that juice from a phone, then the best buy would be simple phone. As, we use the mobile to answer and making calls, sending and receiving messages. The simplest phone can do all these functions.
