hi, I just completed all requirements for power user but i am still stuck on the members badge, I did everything, 75 posts, 30 das regitered and 200 rep but i haven't got the badge yet... I don't know why this is happeneng but if someone could shed some light on this for me, that would be great

    thanks

EDIT: just got the badge then, must have been a bit slow to process!
Hmm am just wondering why you are so worried about the badges etc
Now I don't want to be seen as stealing your thunder but just remind you that we are here for helping others out and not for getting slaps on the back and being told what a great fellow (or gal) they are.

We have had quite a few members pass through here who are purely out for everlasting gratitude and some even reminding others to rep them when they have helped. There have been also quite a few who have got themselves banned for doing just that. I think you will see if you look to the rules of being a member of this forum that some just don't get it.

Personally I go out of my way to avoid those who boast and brag about what their status is and rely on those who I have come to know over the years who have taken me from being a pretty basic novice at this stuff to what I have got myself to today - not that that is a lot but at least I can hold my own with some and even help people from time to time.

But in any case great to see you got your power user badge and all good luck to you, - chill time my friend.

i am not obsessed with them or sanything, i had just done everytthing i needed to do and was curious as to why it did not go up straight away when my first badge appeared without me even knowing about it.

These changes are most likely done via cron jobs (Google it). Members won't see the changes until the job runs on the server. If the job runs every hour, then you could go beyond the requirements without seeing a change. And if the job runs every 24 hours or once a week, then you might really exceed the requirements before seeing the change.

There is no reason to burden the server with the task of checking the data on about 350,000 members every few minutes just so members can see their changes "straight away".

    Enjoy the badge
