I'm currently going through a very busy time.
I recently started my new internship which basically means that I'm away from home for 13 to 15 hours a day for five days a week. I have enrolled and got accepted at an online academy which will teach me how to fix Windows Update problems, that combined with my Malware Removal course cost approximately three hours a day every day, and to top it off I just quit my job (I didn't agree with a few decisions the management made and concluded that I no longer wanted to be associated with them) and the "replacement job" I got until I can find anything decent is a three hour drive away, so that's two more days on which I'm away from home for about 12 to 14 hours.
All with all I have about two hours of spare time a day, in which I also need to eat, shower, socialize and everything. So yeah, sorry if I haven't replied to any threads, PM's or VM's, but I simply don't have the time to do so.

Today I have spent the past 2 hours pulling my hair out... Trying to troubleshoot a small service provider network I made...
Turns out that I forgot to specify a metric in a command... Slightly infuriating but feel happy that managed to spot it. As you can guess... It took a while to verify the configs on all the routers

As long as you can see a benefit in it at the end and you feel it is worth it . Otherwise, I would pack that in and find a slower paced lifestyle. I know I couldn't crack that...

Today I am totally fed up with the bureaucratic system of this country and its authorities who cannot think with their own brain but check every law and ruling ever written to see if they could find more ways to delay a simple request as long as possible.
I need a simple permission from the state to do something fairly simple. Early January I got a "letter of pre-approval" (freely translated) to inform me that the permission will be automatically granted after I have filled official paperwork for it.
I did the paperwork. Since that I have been in two official hearings explaining why I want to do this, why I think I should get the permission. Now this morning I got a phone call informing me that the permission has been granted but I need to appear in one more official hearing in two weeks time to confirm my request and everything I have presented to support it is in fact valid, in which case I will get the official permit.
When asked about this process in early January I was told it takes a few days, maybe a week. It has now taken almost 6 weeks.
My home is here where my heart is, here in Germany, by my dear Angie in her home country. I do not feel homesick often although there are things I miss from my native Finland like my kids and nieces and nephews, real sauna, snow in the winter, midnight sun in the summer and so on. But one thing I miss most is the simplicity of the society, how things work. In my native Finland this permission had been OK after one visit at city hall and paying for dues; if I had decided early in the morning I need that permission I would have had it late in the same afternoon.
Frustrated and tired,
Kari

I'm guessing that there were different government officials at the first two hearings. And there will probably be different officials at the next hearing in two weeks. I'm reminded of an old joke:
Q: How many bureaucrats does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Three. One to write the light bulb removal program, one to write the light bulb insertion program, and one to act as a light bulb administrator to make sure nobody else tries to change the bulb at the same time. Or maybe ten. One to hold the bulb and nine to rotate the ladder.
Keep smiling, Kari. The permit will be issued. Eventually.

IT ain't just there my friend. The US has the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) to which all major building projects and all public ones, plans must be submitted. They deny permission for the cause of saving a fish or some rare mosquito breed. As with most bureaucracies, their power has increased algorithmically.
