Yes Kari. The Thames floods are quite extensive. BBC News - UK floods: Aerial footage of Thames floods. I have a nephew that lives a few miles from there. Fortunately he is clear of it.
Wow that's like the Mississippi river floods that happen here. No more complaints about snow.
The Somerset Levels are even worse. They have been flooded since Christmas. They flood quite often as they are reclaimed land below sea level but never for that long.

I scored very poor in Aptitude test. The personal interview went quite well though.

The results will be out by tonight.

    Fingers crossed

At present we are having hurricane force gales alongside the rain, the coastline around here is getting a real hammering, we've lost power twice so far today but as I'm on the priority list for power they try to get me re-connected as soon as possible.

Funny thing is that yesterday there was someone from the electricity board to tell us they were going to be replacing the pole that's stuck in my front lawn next week and we'd be without power for 2 to 3 hours, my phone line is fastened to that pole as well. Don't know how old the poles been there but we've been here 21 years and it was there when we moved here so they probably think it's rotted enough to replace, he mentioned the other one that's just over the hedge in the next door neighbours, that looks dodgy as well. :)

Just up the coast they reported a gust of 108 mph, we've got about 80 mph at the moment, I nervously keep watching a large tree on my drive between me and next door that is leaning a bit, it's an ash tree there are a few along the drive.

Not long got the power back again, that's 3 times so far today it's gone out.
