    Any Fitness Freaks?

Hey there, just wondering if theres any fitness fanatics out there?.
Currently training for the army as of today, havent ran at all much in around 6 months, went out for a casual mile long(1.7km) jog, 11 minutes 40, Got to get that down to 10 minutes 30 for 1.5miles(2.4km) for january, think i can do it? I sure hope so!

i used to be able to do a mile in around 6 minutes 30/7 minutes depending on weather, i wasn't pushing at all much this morning simply because i havent ran in around 6 months! felt good, legs are a bit like jelly but hey ho lol, Army in march, selection is in january which they require me to do 1.5miles in 10minutes 30, i know ive started training a bit late but thats because i was nursing an injury, cheers buddy, appreciated!

Running is one part of it, but you will need some decent amount of upper body strength too. Try this:

2.4km in 12 minutes wearing boots and carrying a 4kg load
    15 chinups/pullups
    40 situps in 2 minutes
    40 pressups in 2 minutes
25km march in 5 hours carrying 40kg backup

That will give you some basic fitness, but there is little you can do to prepare yourself for the rigours of proper military training. Just suck it up when you get there

thats pretty advanced mate! Im only 16! Im going to harrogate hopefully, they dont expect massive amounts in terms of fitness and strength to start with because its "junior" solider entry so il be fine, the 25km march with 40kg does sound like a good challenge so i might hit that up! As for pullups, im fine with those, i have a routine in terms of weights etc, cheers

That was the standard fitness when I did my military service....and I was 17 years and 7 months old. Thats approximately what they will build you up to, if you can get close to that it will be easier on you :)
