Any guesses on what the Samsung 840 PRO 256GB SSD will be priced at, on or around Black Friday?

    Hi there
to the uninitiated - What's Black Friday ???

Any time I have to go into a store is always HIDEOUS - I'm sure WOMEN were invented for that function as they seem to be able to stand that type of activity without feeling the pain most men have when even having to THINK about going shopping.

    Cheers

    Hi there
Reading that - I think I'd HIDE AWAY in the nearest Sports pub / bar and let the "lemmings" go bonkers with this type of idiotic activity.

While the USA has given a lot of good things to the world and made a lot of sacrifices - this is part of the culture that I'm sure gives the USA a really bad name in a lot of far older and less overtly commercial cultures.

I would guarantee that if you can wait a while you would find just as good bargains and you'd have far more comfort in going about your business too and in any case if you have money you can ALWAYS find (or negociate) a reasonable deal - even in the most UNLIKELY places --simply ask to see the manager - it works more often than you think.

Anyway "Happy Turkey Day" to you over there - forget the shopping bit - enjoy your Family / Friends etc. and use the long weekend to do something NICE and relaxing - and if possible DIFFERENT from what you can do almost every day.

    Cheers

You would be braver than me. Unless it's to get something to eat or see a movie (and that is rarely), I do not venture out on Black Friday. I just don't have the tolerance for the collective greed and stupidity that abounds on that day and continues on until into January. The holiday shopping feeding frenzy and the focus on buying and getting stuff has ruined Christmas for me.

If any place will be giving a deal on it, I would bet on NewEgg, TigerDirect, & lastly Fry's Electronics.

And Amazon. Just be careful with Fry's. Their normal price is often much higher than other retailer's prices. Also, at least at their Phoenix and Tempe, AZ, stores, stock levels are often low or they are out. Customer service isn't always the greatest (most of that isn't true for their San Marcos, CA, store).
