Why ONE YEAR difference in some DVD releases

Hi there
You think Hollywood would have got the point by now -- WHY are we STILL seeing DVD releases with A YEAR APART -- in any case the whole regionalisation thinghy is totally absurd these days with fast Internet download, cheapish international travel and portable devices for consumption of multi-media --in any case VLC will play NTSC DVD's these days quite happily on any European laptop / TV.

Software like AnyDVD - legal in most countries will remove regional encoding anyway and convert the DVD to a mountable ISO so that the DVD can be played on devices that don't have a DVD player as well. It's easy to import Region 1 discs (at least here where I am) too - and they are often cheaper than the Region 2 one's as well. !!!!

I really thought this whole regional thing would have died the death by now -- no wonder the torrent sites are still in business.

Do you really think people these days will wait A YEAR once a popular movie is released ANYWHERE on the planet any more.

MS Downloadable RC or RTM releases?
I was wondering after reading all the great posts about 7057 and 7061, Will Microsoft release a RC or RTM to the masses, as build 7000 was? And if so, what sort of dates are the rumor mills churning out? I'm still running 7000, and really can't be bothered with torrent sites, so i'd...
