I have installed Mint Mate 16 (Petra) in a virtual partition. It has been out since a few days and the performance is really impressive.
You can download it from here. For the setup I have made a series of video tutorials that you can get from here. Download the PDF from that site. I gives you all the controls to access the tutorials.

Destroyed BCD with Linux Mint Hi!
I installed Linux Mint on my external HDD. Worked fine. Booted Linux when external HDD was plugged in, Win7 when not. Unfortunately at one point Linux Mint updated its kernel headers and I suppose it made an update to Grub with this. => no boot to Win7 although all data was still there.
