Charlie Sheen (Quote from Two and a Half Men)Go my son, drizzle thy frosting on the divorced sticky buns of the valley!
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.
-Carl Sagan
Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday
~John Wayne
A Guy
Those who cannot understand how to put their thoughts on ice should not enter into the heat of debate
As a type A personality I've always had control of what I needed to do things and get things done. When I was diagnosed with a rare non-curable form of non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in 2008 I realized my bubble of control was shattered. Five weeks in the hospital, a bleeding kidney and kidney failure left me in a situation I was not conditioned to be in, i.e. helpless.
I recall thinking this was probably the lowest I ever felt and if I was ever going to pull a Phoenix I had to do it and do it fast.
The staff pulled 15 vials of blood from me and as I watched each one drain from me from one arm and the bottles of stuff they were putting into me in the other I hit bottom.
I awoke from a nap to find more bodies poking me for blood etc. and I let go and just gave in. Out of this I came up with "Take control of life, grab it by the throat, get its attention, and do with it as much as possible. Learn what is within your control and what is not. When you find yourself out of control, let those who have control take it."
If you understand, things are just as they are; if you do not understand, things are just as they are.
